How To.position Your App Icons On Any Place On Screen For Android

Perform the following to troubleshoot:

1 Check whether your phone is installed with a memory card

If so, it is normal for apps installed on the memory card to be moved to different positions after the phone restarts, or when the memory card is removed and re-inserted.

Not all devices support memory cards.

2 Check whether the phone is in Safe mode

The order of app icons displayed on the home screen changes after entering or exiting Safe mode. In Safe mode, only system app icons are displayed. Restart your device to exit Safe mode. You can then adjust the positions of app icons using either of the following methods:

To move an app icon, pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter the editing mode for Home screen and then drag it to the desired position.
Open Settings, search for and access Apps, find Huawei Home, and go to to clear its data. Touch the Home button or swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to the home screen. The home screen icons will then have restored to the default icons.

3 Check whether you have switched between User mode and Owner mode

If you switch to Owner mode from User/Guest mode and then switch back to User/Guest mode, choose to access the previous User/Guest space when you are asked whether you would like to do so.

4 Check whether Reorganize app icons on the home screen. or Shake to realign is enabled

Reorganize app icons on the home screen and Shake to realign are not supported in EMUI 9.1 or later versions.

With Shake to realign enabled, the home screen icons will be rearranged when you shake your phone. Tap and hold a blank area or pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter Home screen editing mode, touch Settings or Home screen settings, and disable Shake to realign or Reorganize app icons on the home screen.

5 Check whether apps have been uninstalled

With Auto-align enabled, blank space left by uninstalled apps will be filled automatically. Tap and hold a blank area or pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter Home screen editing mode, touch Settings or Home screen settings, and disable Auto-align.

6 You may have accidentally moved the app icons around

You can move an app icon by touching and holding it and then dragging it to another position. This may affect the layout of other app icons. Touch and hold an app icon to move it to your preferred position.
